Dr. Candace’s new Beyond The Gap podcast helps you navigate the generation gap at work
Do any of these statements sound familiar?
My boss doesn’t see how hard I work. He always gives the best assignments to people who joke around and don’t take things seriously.
Why don’t these employees want to pay their dues! When I started my career, I had to earn my promotion, and it took a while.
During the interview, they told me the hours were 9 am to 5 pm. So, now why does my company expect me to stay late so often? I have things to do.
Another meeting? Really! Can’t you just read the email?!
I’m told all the time about how frustrated people are by the negative conversations and interaction about Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X, and Baby Boomers.
Aren’t you too? It isn’t creating better workplaces.
I created Beyond The Gap, a biweekly progressive podcast that features guests from different generations and backgrounds. During each episode, we engage in frank discussions, share perspectives on many unspoken workplace topics, and offer helpful career advice you can use right away.
In the first season, my guests and I will explore:
· Tips on dealing with office politics,
· Contributions that each generation makes that we never talk about,
· What to do when you get more responsibility without an increase in your pay,
· The ins and outs of getting a raise,
· Knowing when to quit your job, and
· Disagreeing without being disagreeable, among many others.
I invite you to tune in to my new biweekly podcast, Beyond The Gap launching on March 24, 2020, on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, and Google Play. If you like this episode, please subscribe. And, if you know someone else who could benefit from this podcast, please share it! Learn more and download the show notes at BeyondTheGapPodcast.com.
